چکیده

In this study, an experimental program was developed to investigate the flexural behavior of pre-damaged reinforced concrete (RC) beams that had been repaired and strengthened using carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates under a monotonic load. Two techniques were used: externally bonded reinforcement (EBR) near-surface-mounted (NSM) reinforcement, repair strengthen tested beams. The involved casting testing nine simply supported RC rectangular beams; one beam considered as reference did not undergo additional strengthening, remaining CFRP laminates. These eight divided into two main groups for purposes strengthening: which EBR technique used, NSM used. primary variables observed in included four damage percentages obtained according preload (20, 40, 60, 80%) from ultimate load carried by beam. results show decreasing percentage leads increase strength about 3.6% 17.2% 27.6% 57% technique; additionally, method more effective than terms mode failure. However, enhances flexure capacity

Flexural Testing of High Strength Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with CFRP Sheets

The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of externally bonded CFRP sheets to increase the flexural strength of reinforced high strength concrete (HSC) beams. Four-point bending flexural tests to complete failure on six concrete beams, strengthened with different layouts of CFRP sheets were conducted. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element (FE) models were adopted by A...

Experimental and Theoretical Investigation on Shear Strengthening of RC Precraced Continuous T-beams Using CFRP Strips

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets are externally bonded to reinforced concrete (RC) members to provide additional strength such as flexural, shear, etc. It has been widely accepted that carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) can be used effectively to strengthen reinforced concrete (RC) members. This paper is intended to study and use externally bonded CFRP strips to repair and st...

Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Bars for Enhancing the Flexural Performance of RC Beams Using Side-NSM Technique

Reinforced concrete (RC) structures require strengthening for numerous factors, such as increased load, modification of the structural systems, structural upgrade or errors in the design and construction stages. The side near-surface mounted (SNSM) strengthening technique with glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars is a relatively new emerging technique for enhancing the flexural capacities...
